BECAUSE IT'S ALREADY IN YOU ...BOOGIE!

FROM THE ROOT OF IT ALL

As you are very much aware, the music industry is a very glamorous field that attracts many different people for many different reasons; the most common being fame and fortune. But what I’m after is the perfect song; the perfect melody; the perfect arrangement and the perfect vision. For me, it's all about the project. I believe that making good music has become a lost art form, one that the current generation is being deprived of and it saddens me. The problem isn't that good music isn't being made, nor that real singers, emcees and artistry no longer exists; the problem is that they're neglected.

My soul is drawn to an incredible bass line, the rhythm of kick drum, the zip sound of fingers sliding up and down the strings of a guitar. For me, music isn't just about a catchy track. It's about the energy and spirit put forth from its creator. An MPC can't replicate that. To be a brilliant emcee isn't about how many metaphors you can inundate your song with. It's about how many people get it and whether or not they can relate or even care. Sometimes the quest to be clever many leaves rappers sounding corny. And the difference between a rapper and an emcee, a singer and a vocalist and an entertainer and an artist are too often obscured.

That being said, what I offer to you is an ear, an eye, and a vision. For me, the passion lies in finding that "diamond in the rough".  I honestly believe that it's my responsibility, having these gifts, to feed humanity with the progressive revelation the real music conveys. Picture with me an audience grooving to the sounds of a live band and the voice of a true crooner. Picture with me taking in the rhymes of a true emcee whose flow is so slick and lyrics are so dynamic that all you can do is stop in the middle of bobbing your head to let out an occasional "Ohhhhh". Now picture with me that this isn't just something you can get underground or independently. Picture this being the norm and everything else gets recognized and chastised for its simple-mindedness. If this is something you visualize as well, then picture US setting the stage.
